Could anyone help identify these?

Hi,
My boys have found these points but don't know know much about identifying them. We have a few books but can't tell for sure. We were hoping to find someone that knows a lot more than we do about looking at them. Also if someone could recommend some good books for our area, we would greatly appreciate it. These were found in Limestone County, in Central Texas. We also found a Waco sinker which was neat, even if we don't know for sure what they were used for. Than[ATTACH]Name: arrowheadology2.jpg

Jill, I'm not all that familiar with a lot of Texas types since I'm from Ohio, but those look like a Perdenales Point on the left and two Early Triangles on the right. I'm sure someone with more knowledge of Texas artifacts will be along to help you out.

In the meantime, here is a great site to help you ID your finds.

Definite pedernales on the left, early triangle in the middle. Clovis could be on the right. Didnt notice the flute until I looked again. Great points

Wow guys, I didn't notice the flute either until Kent mentioned it might be a Clovis. That could very well be a Clovis or at least a Paleo of some kind.

Could you take a few closer pic's of the point on the right showing both sides & the flake pattern? The Commanche Pedernales is a grade, 9-10 it appears to be in excellent condition. The triangle is also in very good condition & a pic of both sides would be nice.

Thank you all so much. These photos were taken inside at night. I will try to take some better ones when I get home and post them tonight.
Thanks,
Jill

Since you are in Grosbeck, you should talk to Kirby Hyden. He runs the BBQ place up close to Mexia, right across the road from the airport. He's close, knowledable, and hunts that area. Darn good BBQ too. I live in Hearne, and hunt this area, but sometimes the Limestone area too. The other folks have nailed down the types as close as you can without holding them.

Some more Limestone County Texas Pics

Hi again,
I took some more pics, but don't know if they are any better. It was late when I took them outside. I might need to try another camera. I'm not sure I have them attached right, I hope so. This site is great, I'm amazed at the knowledge and willingness to help. We have a lot to learn. I've learned that crawling through the creeks at 105 degrees is only half of it. You have to find out what the neat stuff you find is! Thanks again everyone. I'm anxious to look at the link to help identify points, and also explore this site as well as dial up internet allows.
Thanks.
Jill

Wow Jill, you guys have found some very nice pieces. The Drill, Knife Blade, and the Waco Sinker are just as nice as the ones you posted earlier.

On the red point that might be Paleo, does it have any grinding along the sides of the base? You can determine this by running your fingers along the edge of the point. The edge should be sharp down by the tip and then as you get up towards the base it should feel smoother from being ground to take the sharp edge off. If it does have grinding then that is another sign of it being a possible Clovis or some type of Paleo culture point.

Thanks for sharing your fantastic finds with us.
