Although the Anasazi were not Deep into West Texas ie. Big Bend the outcroppings of detached Pueblo were,,,I have spent some time There in Alpine and there are many Caves and over hangs to investigate.Also note that these Aztecan people were very Keen astronomers and the Tally marks Might be Lunar Phases or a way to calculate the North Pole.If and when you get back out that way try to make it over to Sul Ross University,,,they should have a good bit of Information on hand for you,,,but past that the Old Ranchers although a bit Clique' Know more than the University ever could hope to know///comanche

Any possibility it could have been a tool rather than a pendant. Maybe the drilled hole was for a leather "keeper."

I didn't think the Anasazi made it that far East but I couldn't think of any other cultures toward west Texas that might make an item like this so that's why the guess. I do think it's a Pendant though and not a sinker or net weight be simply because of the tally marks. No reason to tally mark a sinker.
