Please Read Before Posting Items in "What In The World?"

Perhaps one of our dutiful Arrowheadology Moderators would be kind enough to "Skicky" this post to be used for reference in our "What is it" forum

IMPORTANT!

When posting in "What In The World?", please give your fellow Arrowheadologists the information they will need to assist with the identification of your artifact and relic - Arrowheadologists are here to be helpful:

1. Please post sharp closeup photos of both the front and the back of your item, side views are good too.

2. State the actual size of the item. Also, if possible, put something with it in the photo for scale: a common U.S. coin, a ruler, etc.

3. Please indicate in what State your items was found.

4. Please indicate in what context it was found: Farm Field, Gravel Bar, Excavated, etc.

5. Indicate the composition of the item, if known. For example: I think it is bone, shell, flint, etc.

• Please do not deliberately withhold any information just to "have fun" seeing if members can guess correctly.

• Finally, if someone identifies your item or provides other helpful information, please take time to post your appreciation— and maybe send a PM to say, "Thanks!" too.

Great idea! Hopefully this will be read before someone posts their find, Ray.

I agree, something we should always do is say thanks to anyone that takes the time to stop and look at your post and leave a comment.
I also will make a copy to keep as a reminder! Joyce

Just an added suggestion; if posting something to get information about it, I would suggest not arguing with people that give an opinion or answer your question.

OK! Thanks for some ground rules, I will try to be more informative and did not intend to start some guessing game.

Only been here for a few days and felt like the knowlage and experience from site members would be enough, my bad.

Once again Thanks for stopping by for a looksee.
