New from Central Texas

Hi, I have just gotten the arrowhead bug this past week. I really don't know too much about arrowhead hunting, but hope to learn. I have fossil hunted sporadically in the the area the past few years. I do have some stones that were probably used for something by Indians that I have found in my fossil hunting, I could just be looking too much into it but they definitely look like they have been chipped on, etc.

I was in Louisiana last week and went arrowhead digging with my cousin and found my first arrowhead. I will post a picture in the other forum. I know it is a bird point but other than that I am lost. I do have a book but let my cousin borrow it for a few weeks. I can remember finding arrowheads as a child in Louisiana, I wish I had been more interested in it back then.

Welcome from North Texas. You have several arrowhead collectors in your town so maybe they can show you a few of the ropes.

Thanks guys!

Comanche, I have just started arrowhead hunting so really don't have any finds as of yet (unless you count fossils lol), and I really don't know of anywhere in this area to go, I am going to have to research on that. I am going to try to go back to Louisiana in the next month or two though.

Welcome aboard Amy from southern Ohio.

Here's a good site to help you ID your finds.
