Hi from NE Texas

Hi Folks... I'm a newbie here on Arrowheadology... Up until now, I've spent most of my time on the PROSbb... My name is Larry and I live and do most of my hunting in NE Texas, on and around the north and south Sulfur Rivers... I also like to hunt in other parts of Texas when the opportunity presents itself, as well as Colorado and Wyoming... Love arrowhead and fossil hunting but I've yet to find a real 'Killer' paleo... maybe this year, huh? I'm a member of SHOT and I really enjoy the annual artifact show in Temple... Anyway, glad to be here...

Hi John and Chad... nice to meet you... Seems to be quite a bit more activity here, but I see a lot of familiar names...Looking forward to the new 'digs'...

You're right John... usually pretty good hunting around here...'usually'... sure could use some rain around here to stir things up a bit and cool things off, tho...

anyway, thanks for the welcome...

Thank you, flintseeker... You know, I missed one of my best arrowhead hunting opportunities while I lived in Ohio 74-79... Lived in St. Clairsville on I-70 and worked near Cadiz for Consol Coal a couple years, then at Powhattan Point for North American Coal, on the Ohio River for a few more... This was all before I got interested in artifact hunting... While in Cadiz, I ran a construction crew near Egypt Valley, near Piedmont Lake, building dams and impoundments... Every morning, some of my crew walked the earthwork areas and found all kinds of points and hardstone pieces where the dozers and scrapers had just been working... Points, axes and a lot of other items that I'd never seen before and don't even recall now... I do remember this one BIG spear point one guy brought in one day... called it a 'dovetail' and it was about 7" long and colorful... Also did a lot of exploratory work up in Holmes and Tuscarawas counties, in Amish country... Needless to say, I began kicking my own ass when I became interested in arrowheads and realized what I had missed out on while I was there... OMG, I still cringe at the thought... An incredibly GOLDEN, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, gone forever.... *sigh*
