Hello from West by God Virginia!
Hello, I first joined this site about two months ago and am now just getting around to saying hello... From what I've seen and read, and the replies to my posts asking about identifying a few points of mine, I am so glad to have joined. I don't know too many people who either collect of have an extensive knowledge of all things "artifact", so being on here is a big help! Everyone is so friendly and so willing to share their knowledge and opinions. It seems there is a whole lot of respect between artifact hunters, especially on this site.
I live in Salt Rock, West Virginia. It is in the far west of the state. There is a Fort Ancient site about 1.5 miles as the crow flies from my house, and I have found a few of their peices. I have found a lot of Adena around the area too. I have always been fascinated with Indian artifacts and only within the past two years have I made it my #1 hobby(#2 ginseng fyi). I would like to meet up with someone more experienced than myself and go hunting. I hope someone close by reads this and would like to have a tag-a-long or two(my wife) on a hunt. Thanks for reading this. I hope to learn and share my finds in the future on this site. Although posting pics is time consuming for a person who lives out in the country and only has Hughes Net service I will try to post some of my recent finds. Once again thanks for reading my "Hello". Oh and if anyone is interested in the Fort Ancient site nearby, GOOGLE: Salt Rock Petroglyphs, and you will find pictures of the petroglyphs near the villiage site. Regards, Andrew

Welcome aboard. I hunt the southeastern part of WV when I get the chance. There are some great areas to hunt in the state, alot of untouched wilderness. Lets go mountaineers.

Welcome aboard from southern Ohio.
Ft Ancient huh?? You know that just got my attention. Are you finding any Beads, Bone Tools, Pipes, Pottery, or Pendants there along with the typical Triangle Points? Also, are the Triangles serrated or just plain?
