Thanks everyone.

Lilly, yeah I'm not in it for the money. I'd be happy with my first find. I don't care so much about the amount of money someone would pay for a point. I get a kick out of knowing I'm holding something that someone else did hundreds or thousands of years prior. I like to think about its travels. Sorta like with a really old coin and thinking about all the pockets it's been in.

And y'all are spot on with training the eyes. I get off work at 4:30 and the sun goes down at 5:30, but I still figured I'd go to a dry creek in a little city park yesterday just to start. The creek had some water from the weekend, so I didn't get to search as much as I had liked. Didn't find artifacts, but I was just trying to get in the habit of seeing flint. Found a couple pieces.

I'm going out Friday morning and hiking a bit. Hope to keep learning what to look for.

AL.
I am glad you Posted your Introduction.
I totally agree with everyone that has posted so far,,,,Everything and more.I Myself have an addictive personality. So I dove in deep when it came to the shiny Flint.,,lol.

My best advice.Which is only two cents worth.
Once you start to see flint.Learn the difference in Glacial Fractured rock(Natural breaks)
and "INTENTIONAL WORK.This is where I started.

Just the day before yesterday.I found 3 Broke Arrowheads in a creek I surface hunt from time to time.I know of several spots I would let you know about.Just Private message me./////c
