New Guy from Illinois

Hello everyone. I really like this forum. I have hunted central Illinois for over 25 years. Other interests include antiques. vintage mopeds, and my Weimaraner "Bubba". Hope you folks don't mind seeing some crummy Illinois pieces. I am including a pic of the longest point I have found. Perino saw a pic of this and called it a Belnap. It is from Moultrie Co., Il. and 5 5/8 long.

Where in Central Illinois? I lived in Effingham County for a few years when I was a kid. I have family in Charleston and Champaign. I used to walk up and down creeks and tributaries of the Little Wabash and little Salt Creek with my .22 rifle shooting grackles and starlings. I never found any artifacts 'cause I didn't have a clue. My family moved away when I as about 12. I always wondered if I only knew then what I know now, I'd have a pretty nice Illinois collection to go along with my California, Nevada, and Texas stuff!

Thanks guys. Mojave, I live in Decatur and hunt Macon, Moultrie and Shelby counties primarily. The big news around here right now is a 12 year old boy found the atlas vertabra of a mammoth last week while fishing on the Embarass River. I don't know how to provide the link but if you go to Heraldandreview.com and type mammoth in the archive search you should find it.
