New Member from Ohio

Hello. I'm a new member from South Central Ohio (Fairfield County, Rushville area).
I've been interested in native americans for quite a long time. I found this site while researching Ohio PIpestone. well over 25 years ago, Myself and a friend decided we wanted to make some pipes out of ohio pipestone. but as this was BI ( Before Internet), the ability to research the subject was quite limited. Last year we got together after 10 years, and the subject of Ohio pipestone came back up. I stared researching on the internet to find locations, and ran across a discussion on this site about pipestone. After just staying in the background and reading posts, I decided this sounds like a very interesting hobby and decided to join the fourms. I'll also be posting photos of a mantate that we found in the hocking hills (in the state forrest, we just took photos and let it lay). I'm hopeing to get a weekend planned to visit southern ohio to look for pipestone some time in the next few months.

Welcome DLR. You might see Steve Valentine on here. He may be able to put you onto some pipestone like this. If I remember right his usual spot has become less available but he may know of more leads for you in the SE Ohio area.
