Newbie from Southern Illinois checking in
Hi everybody.
My name is Eric,and I am a newly converted relic hunter from the southern most tip of the beautiful state of Illinois. My love affair with the great flint hunt began just a short two months ago after a brief conversation with a coworker and him taking me out on my first hunt. I immediately became hooked. So far my outings have only provided me with the meager beginnings of a nice tool collection(scrappers,thumbnail scrappers,blades,and a beautiful little multipurpose tool).If there are any fellow hunters from southern Ill,western Kentucky,or Southwest Indiana I would love to hear from you.It's nice to know that there is a site such as this with a community as friendly as this one that I can learn from and ask questions of. eric welcome from central missouri, i have lived in western kentucky and hunted your area quite extensivly, where bouts are ya. pm and i can give you some sites to look but ya might have to ask for permission first before they will let ya go.

Eric, welcome aboard from southern Ohio. You are in a great area for artifacts and I'm sure you will be finding some nice ones soon. Once this gets in your blood it's hard to get away from. I've been doing it for 45 years and will continue until these ld legs can't carry me across the fields. Post some of your finds for us to see please.
Just curious, are you part Cherokee or is that just your screen name? My great, great Grandma was a full blooded Cherokee named Many Summers.
