New Guy S.W. Ohio

Just wanted to leave an intro being new to the forum. Have only been hunting indian artifacts since 2006. But have been metal detecting for 23 years I,ve found over 10,000 coins the oldest 1832 half dime. Started fossil hunting in 2000 while hunting in 06 I found a rock that was so different from the rest in that area I keep it. A friend told me it was a nut hammer. Now I'm intrigued and hooked. So I bought some books by Lar Hotheim and Overstreet. After reading these books I kicked myself real hard turns out I was leaving good stuff lay not knowing any better. Still have a hard time IDing stuff but I,m learning. That’s one reason I joined this site lots of info and knowledgeable people. I know lots of farmers and have places to go. Just need time and good weather. I'm About 15 miles north of Dayton, Ohio. Thanks Don

Welcome to the site. I'm just south of Springfield myself so we're not too far from each other. A stem and a half another is all I have this year but it's early.
