I'm an archaeologist... but!

Hello all,

As the title states, I'm an archaeologist, but....

I'm not here to raid your collections, nor your status - I am here for your help, specifically in the Great Basin and Southwest.

I'm trying to nail down some source material (and if I get the help of the Great Basiners.... change archaeology for the region!).

I'm a Clovis person. My current projects include a site in southeastern Utah, and an synthesis of Clovis in the northern Southwest.

I'll be uploading some pics in the coming days - Clovis material from the Utah site... any help you can provide in regards to material type and whether you've seen it somewhere else would be extremely useful!

Come on guys - you have the info I don't...

Thanks ahead of time! Meghann

Welcome to the site.
Many avocational hunters here along with a few Archies.
I look forward to seeing your finds and seeing the two classes of collectors come together.

Hey Comanche - Thanks! You guys can change the face of archaeology... and I'm not just smoozing... did you know that Great Basin archaeologists refer to paleo in their region as the Paleoarchiac because they don't think they have evidence of Clovis-type hunting behavior? I think we can change that using the collections you'll have!!! Fun, no?

Fun and exciting
It is about time the professional world got together with the avocational hunters. We have a lot to offer, and many times we are sponges for knowledge.
Dr.TR Hester is one of our members. We all value his opinion and the knowledge he brings to this forum.I really look forward to learning from you///Not smoozing,,,Just the Facts///c

Welcome aboard, I'm sure there are some people here who might be able to help. I look forward to seeing material from your Utah site.

If you want to see fluted stuff from way south of Arizona let me know.
