Hello from North Central Nebraska

Hello all, I just want to say I love this site (long time lurker, first time poster). I really enjoy all the pics u guys share, you are all making me jealous as I cant get out and hunt for a few more weeks (curse you snow). Anyhow I found my first point at age 7 and been hooked ever since, hopefully when I get some free time I can post my collection and get some analysis from the knowledgeable crowd here. Thats it, Happy hunting all

Welcome to a great place..At the very least when you can't hunt this is a reasonable replacement.

I turkey hunted up west of Rushville. Around Beaver Wall. Amazing place and awesome merriams turkey hunting. Beautiful birds. Anyways, I looked around the farm where I was hunting, didn't see anything but when talking to the older gentleman whose family had 'homesteaded and drove a stake in the ground' at beaver wall back in the 1800's or so, he told me there were stories of Crazy Horse leading his warriors around the wall. Neat area, especially with the sand hills.

I did notice the lack of limestone quarries and the abundance of mud roads. Sandstone was the main rock type out there, but I'm sure there is some type of rock or stone that was used around that area. What towns are you near in N Central NE?

nebohill, the closest town I live to is Valentine and its 60 miles away, you could say I live at the end of the road, literally. There are smaller towns closer but with populations less than 300 people. Most of the points I find are made of river flint, some sandstone stuff as well. Im sure all materials used here had to be brought in from somewhere as like u said, there arent many quarrys in the sandhills. Anyhow I am still working at getting some pics up, the first pics will probably be pretty "crude" but I will pick out my better points and post some detailed pics. Thanks for the welcome from everyone.
