Hello from Louisiana

Hi. My name is Al and I live in Leesville/Ft Polk, Louisiana. I am retired from the Army but, I still work for the Army.
I have been hunting points for a number of years now and find grat enjoyment in it. I have never sold a point that I have ever found and don't intend to. On the flip side of that I have never bought one either. To me it's just not the same as finding them.

I do flint knapping and enjoy that very much also.

I am looking forward to learning a great deal from the folks here and hopefully make some friends that I might be able to go on or share a hunt with.

Thank you for your time.
Al

Welcome aboard. I will be doing some contract work on the base over the next 6 months. I was looking on their website a while back and there is mention of over 2000 documented prehistoric sites in the natural/historical resources section. I don't figure that they will be letting me go poke around tho. I have heard stories from back in the day - 70 points from one hole, etc.
I have met a few collectors in that area and they find plenty of points around you.
And palmwood, which I obviously like.

They are a little picky about digging. However there are plenty of place to surface hunt in the area. Stay in touch and maybe we could set something up together. Check out these palmwood points.
