KY newbie

Hey all. I've been on this site for a few weeks but I haven't gotten around to creating an intro thread yet.

I live in central Kentucky, and I'm pretty much brand new to arrowhead collecting. I was given a knife and a scraper last month, and holding those ancient pieces of history in my hands got me hooked to learn more about them and find my own. I've been an avid hiker all my life, and it makes me want to kick myself knowing that I walked through so many areas that likely had arrowheads and was completely oblivious to them. I'm going on my first hunt tomorrow so I'm pretty excited.

Thanks.

Welcome aboard. You're in a great area to find artifacts. There are all kinds of great materials and types in central Ky. I collect from that area, especially Sonora flint artifacts. I know what you mean about kicking yourself for being oblivious to them, I feel the same way. I used to use all my free time fishing and hate to think how many artifacts I stepped on and walked over in the past. Good luck, after you find your first your eyes will always be on the ground.
